Scholarships are a great way to help finance your college education and at EKU, we offer a variety of scholarship opportunities on the University, College and Department levels. The department of Geography and Geology offers:
The Milos Sebor Scholarship for Geography Majors. In order to qualify for this scholarship, you must:
- Fill out Scholarship Application;
- be enrolled full-time at Eastern Kentucky University seeking a degree in geography;
- have a 3.0 high school GPA or a 3.0 university GPA, and demonstrate potential for the completion of a college degree. The student will be eligible to reapply for the award if a 2.75 GPA is maintained;
- possess the characteristics demonstrated and valued by the Sebor family: leadership, citizenship, diligence, and social responsibility.
The Laura D. Kennamer Scholarship Program (Kennamer Campus Scholar and Study Abroad Scholar Applicants) is an award for students majoring in a Social and Behavioral Sciences, including Geography. Find out more and apply for this scholarship on the College of Arts and Sciences Scholarship pages.

There are many scholarship opportunities available at the University level. For more information about scholarships that you might qualify for visit the Scholarships web site or visit them in the Student Success Building, Room 346.
The Kentucky Association of Mapping Professionals (KAMP) will award two scholarships each year at the Kentucky GIS Conference.
One scholarship will be presented to a high-school senior with a declared high-school concentration in GIS or Geospatial Science. An undergraduate scholarship will be awarded to a college student in Kentucky with a declared major in Geography or Geospatial Sciences.
